Sikhs In Geelong

It is the fastest growing religion in Australia since 2011. The Sikhs form one of the largest subgroups of Indian Australians with 125,000 adherents according to the 2016 census, having grown from 12,000 in 1996, 17,000 in 2001 and 26,500 in 2006.
Sikhs first started mirgating in Geelong in approximately early 2000, since then there is significant growth in the Sikh faith population in Greater Geelong.
Sikh Community of Greater Geelong Inc.
Sikh Community of Greater Geelong Inc.(SCOGG) was first established in 2010 and got registered with Geelong Ethnic Community Council T/A Diversitat. First committee of volunteers was formed with principle goal of establishing its own Gurudwara Sahib( Sikh Temple) in Geelong.
Then in 2016 SCOGG was official registered as incorporated association and with diligently efforts of members of the community, first Gurudwara Sahib was established at 37 Vines Rd Hamlyn Heights with unconditional support of Micheal Martinez CEO Diversitat.
